The fine print
Privacy policy
Last updated
This page explains what jenniferpeckfineart.com collects, why, and who else handles it. The short version: we collect only what it takes to answer your note, send the artwork you bought and, if you ask, keep you posted on new work and show dates. We never sell your information.
Who we are
Jennifer Peck Fine Art is Jennifer Peck's art studio in Sarasota, Florida. On this page, "we" means Jennifer and the small team who help her run the studio.
What we collect, and why
When you write to Jennifer
The contact form asks for your name, your email address and your note; a phone number is optional. If you write from an artwork's page, the note names that piece. Your note is emailed to Jennifer and saved in the studio's own contact records, so she can answer it and the conversation isn't lost in an inbox.
The form also has a box to sign up for the newsletter. It starts unticked: you join only if you tick it.
When you sign up for the newsletter
We keep your email address, your first name if you give it, and the topics you picked (new pieces, show dates, studio news, designer and trade). The emails are sent through Constant Contact. Every one has an unsubscribe link at the bottom, and one click takes you off the list.
When you buy
You pay on Square's secure checkout page. Your card details are typed there, never on this site, so we never see or store your card number.
Square passes us what we need to fill the order: your name, email address, phone number, shipping address and what you bought. The order is saved in the studio's own records so your piece goes to the right door, and for the studio's sales and tax records. If your piece ships, UPS receives the name, address and phone number it needs to deliver it.
Your cart and favorites stay in your browser
There are no customer accounts, so there's no password to remember. Your cart, the pieces you save with the heart, and the state you pick for shipping are kept in your own browser. When you check out, the pieces in your cart are sent to set up your Square checkout, and nothing else.
Visit statistics and cookies
We use Google Analytics to understand how people find and use the site: which pages are visited and for how long, roughly where visitors are (city or region), what device and browser they use, and which site or search brought them here. Google Analytics sets cookies so it can tell a returning visitor from a new one. It doesn't tell us who you are, and we don't use it for advertising.
You can block it with your browser's cookie settings or with Google's opt-out add-on at tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout. The site works the same without it. The site sets no other cookies for visitors.
Videos and social media
Jennifer's films play from YouTube. Nothing loads from YouTube until you press play; then the film plays in YouTube's privacy-enhanced player, and YouTube's privacy policy covers that viewing. The links to Instagram, Facebook, Pinterest and YouTube open those sites, where their own policies apply. This site doesn't load their tracking code.
What we don't do
- We don't sell or rent your information, ever.
- We don't run advertising trackers or ad-network pixels.
- We don't see or keep card numbers.
- We don't ask you to create an account.
Who else handles your information
A few companies help run the studio. Each gets only what it needs for its job:
- Square takes payments and passes us your order.
- Constant Contact sends the newsletter, only if you signed up.
- Resend delivers contact-form notes to Jennifer's inbox.
- Google Analytics counts visits.
- UPS delivers your piece.
- Vercel hosts the website and, like any web host, keeps short-lived technical logs (such as IP address and browser type) for security.
- Neon stores the studio's own contact and order records.
- Dinko Design, the studio that built and looks after this site, can see those records to keep things working.
Inside the studio, only Jennifer and the people who help her run it can see your records, behind a private sign-in.
How long we keep it
Contact notes and newsletter details stay in the studio's records until you ask us to remove them. Unsubscribing stops the emails straight away.
Order records are kept as long as the studio's bookkeeping and sales tax records require.
Your choices
- Leave the newsletter at any time with the unsubscribe link at the bottom of any email.
- Ask what we hold about you, or ask us to correct or delete it, through the contact form. We'll answer within 30 days. We keep only what sales and tax records require.
- Turn off cookies in your browser. The site still works, and so does your cart.
Children
This site isn't meant for children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect their information.
Keeping it safe
Payments run on Square's secure page, and the whole site is served over an encrypted connection. The studio's records sit behind a private sign-in for Jennifer's team. If something ever went wrong with your information, we'd tell you.
Changes to this policy
When the way the studio handles information changes, this page changes too, with a new "Last updated" date at the top.
