New art

I had so much fun creating these new pieces! Over the summer break, I did lots of experimenting in the studio and planting in the garden. It just so happened that these two things collided and I've been busy constructing these botanically inspired pieces.

Jennifer spray-paints hand-cut yellow monstera leaves laid out on kraft paper outside the studio

Wild Blue Yonder: tall blue leaves and orange heliconia blooms rising from a bed of yellow monstera

My Blue Heaven: blue banana leaves and bird of paradise blooms over yellow flowers and patterned papers

"Brand New Dawn" — I often walk on Siesta Key in the morning, and love the freshness of a new day dawning at the beach. I wanted to capture the simplicity and strength of the horizon and landscape in a softer palette. There is always a wonderful breeze by the sea, and I tried to capture that with a little movement in the graceful Sea Oats. Here's to the gentle dawning of a new day!

We invite you to come by our home at 3634 Beacon Lane to see the studio where I create! I will have new work in progress and our booth set up, so there will be lots of art to enjoy! More info to follow in December.

It was so nice to spend time creating in the new studio this summer! Steve and I worked on lots of landscaping, and got to venture off to Morocco and take in the great Sahara! We honestly missed all of our loyal customers and friends over our break, so we are very much looking forward to seeing you at the shows!
