The story
It’s a little more mysterious when you don't see the whole Octopus. Is she coming or going? Is she an Octopus or a Squid? Many coastal interiors have coral and shades of orange in them, just like the sea! For some of the coral I use stencils, then I layer some coral that’s been cut out, and that requires some patience! In this piece, I like the contrasting nature of these two shapes; the Octopus being soft and the coral kind of quirky.
